How to run DC motor in AC 220V

 

There can be many ways to run a DC motor in AC voltage but it is not possible that we can directly put the DC motor in AC,

The basic principle to run DC motor on AC:-

1)  First of all drop AC voltage 220 TO 12 volt, 9 volts, OR  6 volt.

2)  Use a diode. 

     If you will use only one diode then it will act as a half-wave rectifier but if you use a bridge rectifier then you will get more ampere i.e. current and motor will run better.

     You can make a bridge rectifier by using for 1N4007 diode.

Run DC motor using neutral and earthing:-

If you check the voltage in the neutral and earthing wire that is approximately 12 volt that's why we can use this voltage To ran DC Motors by using a rectifier.

Run DC motor by using transformer:-

You can also run a DC motor by using a 12-volt transformer, Transformer reduces the AC voltage 220 volts to 12 volt and then you use a rectifier for converting AC voltage to DC voltage and you can easily Run your DC 12 volt Motors.
